A new freestanding Starbucks is coming to Foothills Way and Carowinds Blvd, by I-77. This the site previously occupied by KFC. This is across from the busy I-77 Southbound off-ramp. The traffic for this corner is listed as I-77 with 152,700 vehicles per day and Carowinds Blvd with 38,400 vehicles per day.

Klopenstine Dental planned for Springfield Town Center
We have been seeing a lot of building around Springfield Town Center, where the Harris Teeter on Springfield Parkway is located. It appears that all of the outbuildings directly behind the Harris Teeter are planned for retail office space.
The building located closest to Family Trust FCU is going to be Klopenstine Dental. The address for that building is 452 Mercantile Pl, Fort Mill, SC. While currently unconfirmed, this might be the new office for Dr. Mark Kopenstine, DDS whom currently is part of Shiland Dentistry in Rock Hill.
Middle School Boundary Options Announced
On Oct 11th, a Community Meeting was held to reveal the middle school boundaries for the school year starting 2017. See images below to review the current and proposed options.
From Oct 11th-31st, the Feedback period is open for comments from the public. Click Here For Online Feedback From.
On Nov 1st, the Administration presents middle attendance area recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
From Nov 2nd-14th, a second Community feedback is requested based on administration’s recommendation.
On Nov 15th, Current members of the Board of Trustees take action on the administration’s middle school attendance area recommendation that was presented on November 1st.

Waffle House coming to Regent Park
A Waffle House is coming to Fort Mill. It will be located at the entrance of Regent Park, in the parking lot of the Food Lion (former Bloom grocery store).
The property located at 1014 Regent Pkwy in Fort Mill is has been owned by them for at least a year. No word on the grand opening date has been made public yet.
QT proposed for Springfield Pkwy and 160
A new QT is still in the approval process with the city of Fort Mill. It is planned to be located at the corner of Springfield Parkway (SC 460) and SC 160 (Tom Hall Street). It is planned to be in the NorthEast corner of the intersection, just West of the Food Lion.
QuikTrip planned for Carowinds Blvd
Quicktrip is planning to expand with another location. This location will be located at 271 Carowinds Blvd, located at the corner of Lakemont Blvd and Carwinds Blvd. This site is currently 2 lots, the home of Title Max and a vacant lot adjoining the Kangaroo Express.
Marco’s Pizza
Marcos Pizza is coming to 870 Gold Hill Road, Suite 101, the corner of Gold Hill Road and Pleasant View Road located in the new Allen Tate office. The work just recently started, the sign is up, but I am still waiting on word of when it is projected to open.
The dining room will seat 41 and the outdoor patio will seat 16. Marcos will have Dine In, Pick-up, and Delivery.

Ryland Homes coming to Kimbrell Road at N. Doby’s Bridge Road
Ryland Homes plans a 100 single-family homes on a total of 28.97 acres. The subdivision will contain a total of 9.12 +/- acres of dedicated open space, or approximately 31% of the total gross acreage of the development. All proposed lots will meet or exceed 5,000 square feet. The project will also include a perimeter buffer of at least 35’ in width along all property lines. Sidewalks are included on both sides of all roads internal to the subdivision, and will also be required on Kimbrell Road and N Dobys Bridge Road.
The sketch plan was amended to protect one of the two prominent live oaks at the front of the property. The property will also keep one of the prominate trees at the corner of N. Doby’s Bridge Road and Kimbrell Road. A 50’ right of way has also been reserved for future internal connectivity to neighboring property.
New Del Webb Community
The earth is being moved, trees destroyed, and more homes are coming to Springfield Parkway. The new community will be named Carlolina Orchards and will be built out by Pulte Homes. Last month it was announced that this community will be a Del Webb 55+ neighborhood.
This development is bordered by Old Nations Road (at entrance to Springfield Elementray/Middle), Springfield Parkway, York Southern Road, and the railroad tracks west of Nation Ford High School.
